Last night (May 13), the 69th Eurovision Song Contest kicked off in Basel, Switzerland, but who qualified for the grand finale?

15 countries performed on one of the world’s most famous stages in St. Jakobshalle, in the first semi-final of the competition on Tuesday evening.

This included performances from Dutch act Claude Kiambe, 21, who sang C’est La Vie, a blend of English and French that promotes a message of dealing with life as it is.

While current favourites KAJ performed Swedish song Bara Bada Bastu, about Nordic sauna culture.
