BART riders face residual delays going into the Wednesday morning commute as the agency recovers from an unexpected rail defect.

BART discovered the defect in downtown San Francisco between the Montgomery and Powell stations during routine overnight maintenance and raced to repair it. Trains were run on a single track between Montgomery and 16th streets shortly before 5 a.m. until about 6:20 a.m. during “unplanned” rail........
