Bay Area braces for 'last hurrah' of powerful winter storm

Another round of showers is poised to briefly hit the Bay Area after a powerful storm moved through the region over the holidays.

Nicole Sarment, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service, told SFGATE that the rainfall is expected to be the “last hurrah” of the storm before more calm and clear conditions arrive heading into the weekend. She said the storm is a low-pressure system coming from farther north in Eureka.

Sarment said the rainfall in the Bay Area, forecast for Friday afternoon, is expected to be widespread. However, she said this round of rain shouldn’t be as severe as earlier in the week and will likely clear........
