As it’s done repeatedly over the past several years, the San Francisco International Airport is repairing runways for a smoother landing. After addressing one of its shortest runways in 2023 and then one of its longest in 2024, SFO continues its tarmac overhaul with a new project that’s expected to last six months and partially disrupt its busy summer season. 

On Tuesday, SFO announced it’s closing Runway 1 Right next year to repave the surface layer, improve the taxiway, upgrade lighting........
