FILE: Strong winds are preventing the recovery of three deceased hikers on Mount Baldy in Southern California.

LATEST Dec. 31, 2 p.m. A 19-year-old hiker who was found deceased along with two other people on Mount Baldy on Monday has been identified. Marcus Alexander Muench Casanova, a resident of Seal Beach, died on the mountain, the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department announced on Wednesday. His cause of death has not been released.

The coroner’s division of the sheriff’s department has not yet identified the two other people who were found with Casanova. The investigation into the deaths is still ongoing, the sheriff’s department wrote.

Casanova was a student at Santa Clara University’s business school, his family said in a statement, KABC-TV reported.
