What did you mean by that?

What we say can be a lot different than what others hear.

Grunting, ordering, pointing, etc. can get a point across but might not always be a good way of getting your needs met. Personally, never been very good at accepting that type of communication and even though I might understand it, the likelihood of my compliance is slim. Waving your hand at the table indicating you’re hungry will get you on a diet pretty quickly.

I often find myself searching for the right words when trying to express an opinion. I often feel I am not being understood and being judged for my view so I tend to get louder and more aggressive in my attempt to explain. I am sure they are feeling judged, too. It is frustrating and confusing all around. I should just learn to listen more and say less.

I sometimes get bewildered on the meaning of some words which overlap but are decidedly different. From Merriam Webster, Cambridge dictionaries, etc.:

Tolerance: willingness to accept........
