The United Way of Sarnia-Lambton campaign continues to track ahead of last year’s pace and is inching closer to the 50 per cent level of the campaign.
“We have now raised $685,000,” said campaign chairperson Vicky Ducharme. “We are now at 49.2 per cent of the $1.4 million goal, and most industrial campaigns are underway,” she said.
Ducharme said the Nova Chemicals employee campaign is off to a great start, having had four of its five kickoff barbecues in Sarnia-Lambton. “The Nova employee campaign is the largest in our area that matches both the employees and retirees, so we are delighted to see that fundraising drive off to such a good start,” she said. “The retirees are also doing well and are ahead of last year’s pace at this point,” she said.
