Fundraising at the United Way of Sarnia-Lambton has already begun and has raised almost $200,000 so far this year, slightly ahead of last year's pace.

Fundraising at the United Way of Sarnia-Lambton has already begun and has raised almost $200,000 so far this year, slightly ahead of last year’s pace.

“We like to get an early start to the campaign and send donation request letters to area professionals, small businesses and others each spring, and those donations are now arriving,” said campaign chairperson Mike Edgar.

“We have had some very successful events involving local businesses. Most recently, we had a very successful United Way Day with Global Donuts. With the support of Global Donuts and Deli, and all their employees and customers, we raised $1,700.”

Edgar also pointed to the first-ever National Caesar Day event at Refined Fool May 16.
