Bad Bunny performs during the halftime show at Super Bowl LX on Sunday in Santa Clara. How'd he do? Better not ask the president.

Once upon a time, the Super Bowl was just a football game whose halftime show featured marching bands, baton twirling and cameos from the likes of Anita Bryant, who, during 1971’s intermission, performed “The Battle Hymn of the Republic.”

But a funny thing has happened to the NFL in the ensuing years. Its executives realized that if they included entertainment that didn’t consist entirely of predictable drivel, people might actually watch, and they could even make a buck on the deal. You know, capitalism.

The league began booking contemporary halftime acts that didn’t resemble “The Lawrence Welk Show,” no longer intent on sticking to white music for white people.

Picking Bad Bunny did not sit well with President Donald Trump and many of his English-only MAGA followers, who have been cheering on Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents like they would any NFL team.

“All it does is sow hatred,” Trump said of the selection of Bad Bunny and Green Day, who performed before kickoff.

Speaking of sowing hatred, in the week leading up to the Super Bowl, Trump saw fit to post a video to social media that depicted former President Barack Obama and his wife, Michelle, as apes.

Trump left the video on his Truth Social page for 12 hours........
