Fibromyalgia is a multifactorial syndrome that causes pain and depression.
One of the factors in fibromyalgia is inflammation from a poorly balanced gut microbiome.
Although it won’t cure fibromyalgia, repairing a dysbiotic gut can ameliorate pain.

Nothing is simple. Especially in biology, where Nature tends to go for baroque.
Fibromyalgia, or fibro for short, is a case in point. This chronic pain syndrome has elements of genetics, immunology, neurology, metabolism, psychology, and even microbiology.
Fibro is organized around the nervous system, causing double trouble by enhancing pain perception as well as impairing pain inhibition. Companion diseases include chronic fatigue syndrome, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), migraine, and more.
Fibro patients have memory and concentration difficulties, so-called fibro fog. It causes their vocabulary to shrink and their reasoning to suffer. Pain and sleep disturbances explain a lot of these symptoms but are not the whole story.
