Executive functioning isn’t just about knowing what to do but also about being able to get to it.

It's important to decrease the distance between intention and action.

Organizing apps on devices can take students from "I have to do this" to actually getting it done.

For students with ADHD who struggle with executive functioning, getting started and staying focused can be just as difficult as completing the task itself. Notifications, endless scrolling, and searching for apps can create distractibility and overwhelm before a child even begins their work. The goal is to have an idea about a task or assignment that needs to be completed and to be able to access it easily and quickly while the momentum and motivation are there.
