Scromiting is the name for a relatively recent condition affecting cannabis users, a portmanteau for the intense vomiting combined with actual screaming that defines it. While this may sound like something from an ancient scared-straight film like Reefer Madness or perhaps a contemporary horror flick, these disturbing, often frightening symptoms are the result of cannabis hyperemesis syndrome (CHS), a literally gut-wrenching disorder that triggers severe nausea and debilitating abdominal pain—with vomiting/retching occurring up to 4-5 times an hour, according to the Cleveland Clinic.[1]
