I am writing in reference to a letter to the editor by Evan Larter where his topic is snow days.

I was a student at Montague Regional High School in 1962 when on a nice sunny afternoon the principal announced school was being dismissed about an hour early because there was a snow storm on the way.

By the time we got to Pooles Corner, we were in the storm. Students with friends in Montague stayed with them but there were 13  students on the bus and the driver made the decision to return to Montague.

We stayed with bus driver and his large family, went to school on Thursday, stayed with the bus driver’s family on Thursday night and got home on Friday. Some of the students went home on the train.

Obviously the school principals have a protocol to........
