LETTER: Could a tunnel between NL and Cape Breton be a feasible option?

The Faroe Islands have built tunnels to make transport easier - why can't a tunnel between Newfoundland and the mainland work?

On June 24 and June 25, the federal government announced its intention to spend $350 million to upgrade land-based infrastructure for Marine Atlantic. This is over and above the $330 million spent annually to operate Marine Atlantic.
