December can be a long and dark month, especially if you are grieving the loss of a loved one.

Hospice Peterborough and the Peterborough Public Library present “Stars for a Dark Night” and invite community members to fill the main branch library lobby with stars in memory of people who have died. Stars can be picked up at Hospice Peterborough, 325 London St., and the library, 345 Aylmer St. Please note, once they are contributed to the installation, stars cannot be returned.

A short, reflective memorial ceremony will be held on Thursday, Dec. 18 from 4 to 5 p.m., in the Friends of the Library Community Room, located in the lower level of the main branch of the library. The ceremony will include readings by hospice staff and volunteers, sharing the names of loved ones (if desired), a moment of silence, music by the Hospice Singers, and an opportunity to decorate stars. Everyone is........
