On June 19, the Buckhorn Public School community gathered for their annual Spring Concert in celebration of a wonderful year of performance arts at the school.

The concert showcased all eight of the school’s classes, and included a wide range of pieces that gave families and community members a glimpse into the music education program that Buckhorn Public School has begun implementing over the course of the past year.

With generous financial support from the Buckhorn Lions Club, Buckhorn School Council, the Municipality of Trent Lakes, and many community donors, the school made substantial investments in music education. Class sets of recorders and ukuleles were purchased. Handbells and multiple xylophones added the percussion aspect. Clarinets, trombones, flutes, alto sax, baritone, trumpets and drum for students in Grades 5 and 6 were obtained and were played at the concert.
