Proudly buying and eating Canadian amid trade talks
When I reach into my fridge each morning, I am delighted to see so much Canadian food illuminated by the light inside. And it wasn’t so just a year ago.
In the background, I hear newscasters talking about the ongoing trade talks that aim to retain control of our economy. And I love how people like me have quietly quit the U.S. economy.
In the past, I barely paid attention to where my food came from when making my grocery list. Now, specific brand names and stores appear in ink before my husband heads out to shop.
No one told us to change our habits. Instead, our national pride kicked in to spur us on to support each other more than ever.
