Countdown to Norwood Fair is on as three young women compete for ambassador crown
As incredible as it seems, the Norwood Fair is only 10 weeks away; by tradition the official countdown begins with the crowning of the fair ambassador.
The ambassador competition has been and continues to be an anticipated annual event since 1972. As mentioned last week the fair will host this year’s competition on Sunday, Aug. 9 at 2 p.m. at the Asphodel-Norwood Community Centre.
The fair is honoured to have three talented young ladies vying for the coveted crown:
Sponsored by the Norwood Lions Club; Charlotte is the 17-year-old daughter of Patricia and Michael Pearce of Norwood. She will be entering Grade 12 at Holy Cross Catholic Secondary School in the fall. Charlotte volunteers extensively at Norwood Pentecostal Church as a Vacation Bible School leader, children’s program facilitator, barista and mentor for preschool and school-aged children. She is also involved in cheerleading, figure skating and the Amigo Club at her school. Charlotte would like to be the Norwood Fair Ambassador as the fair has been a special part of her life and she looks forward to going all three days since she was very young.
