I have always loved tuning into NHL hockey games whether I was five, 10 or 40 years of age.

My closest friends and family members know I like watching games solo, or to be accompanied by just one other person. 

If it’s a Game 7 of an NHL playoff series or an Olympic gold medal game, I can usually be found at home listening intently to the broadcast from the comfort of my couch. My loved ones and closest friends know that I do not venture to a public place to take in a game with high stakes. 

The reason I avoid establishments with background noise is because I love listening to play-by-play personnel, colour commentators and analysts dissect a game.

I have a challenging time watching a game in the background at a restaurant or at a colleague’s house, as I want to feel the energy and excitement provided by some of the game’s greatest voices. Watching a game........
