Limited edition run of ‘The Kid from Simcoe Street’ printed ahead of Trent Valley play
Trent Valley Archives Theatre’s (TVAT) third annual history fundraising play, “The Kid from Simcoe Street” to be staged at Market Hall from June 4 to 7, is based on a memoir of the same title by Honourable James Clarke, Superior Court of Ontario judge and published poet.
And now theatregoers are able to pick up a copy of the memoir prior to the show thanks to a limited edition run produced by Exile Editions.
“We’re excited to announce that we now have copies of the book for sale in our bookstore while supplies last,” said Madison More, president of the Trent Valley Board of Directors.
You don’t have to have read the book to enjoy the play, says More, but if you’d like to familiarize yourself with the story beforehand, or read about a slice of Peterborough history in more detail, she encourages people to pick up a copy.
“The poetry curated by Bruce Meyer at the end of the book also adds to the reading experience, reinforcing the themes addressed in the memoir and drawing on the poet’s lifetime of experience,” said More.
