Greenwood United Church members invite their friends and neighbours in the Donwood community to join together to provide food and personal hygiene items for the people who are receiving support from One City.

The drive takes place Saturday, May 9 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the church, located at 737 Donwood Dr.

One City, located in the former Trinity Church building in downtown Peterborough, provides housing and support services for those experiencing homelessness. 

“It is a safe place where the unhoused can come to get warm or find a spot on the floor to curl up and sleep. Coffee and snacks are served throughout the day, and a free hot meal is served every afternoon at 2 p.m. Doctors and paramedics make scheduled visits,” explains Greenwood United Church member, Joyce Fee. 

Donations needed include food such as fresh and canned vegetables, tuna, granola bars, biscuits, coffee, food to snack on and food to create a nourishing lunch for 50 people each day. Personal hygiene items for both men and women are also needed, including tooth brushes and........
