Why Pak participation in Board of Peace matters

PAKISTAN’S participation in the Board of Peace represents a principled, timely and strategically responsible decision rooted in its long-standing position on the Palestine question.

For decades, Pakistan has maintained a clear and consistent stance based on international law: unwavering support for the Palestinian people’s right to self-determination and the establishment of an independent, sovereign Palestinian State on pre-1967 borders, with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital. This position has been reiterated at every major multilateral forum and remains unchanged. The Board is a transitional mechanism designed to oversee ceasefire stabilization, humanitarian relief, reconstruction and the political process leading to a just and durable peace based on the two-state solution.
