IMPORTANCE of Pak-US bilateral ties cannot be undermined amid recent positive reset between both countries revolving around significant geo-political developments. The United States has played a significant role in Pakistan’s foreign policy over the past seven decades, shaping a complex relationship marked by cooperation, estrangement and renewed engagement.

Despite periodic tensions, the US remains an important development and security partner for Pakistan. As a major non-NATO ally, Pakistan has experienced both strategic partnership and sanctions, creating a relationship often defined by cycles of convergence and divergence. Today, however, workforce collaboration offers an opportunity to shift this relationship from an aid-based model toward a mutually beneficial economic partnership.
