Group Captain Asim Tariq of the Pakistan Air Force saw a woman in danger. He stopped his car. He got out. He stepped between her and those who meant her harm. He was shot while trying to save her. He died as he had lived, putting duty before himself. He was not on a mission. He was not at a base. He was on a city street and that was enough.
