We’re less than a day away from the 2026 NHL trade deadline, and there’s no shortage of things going on, as the Edmonton Oilers have been one of the busier teams in recent days.

They swung a pair of trades with the Chicago Blackhawks, picking up defenceman Connor Murphy on Monday in exchange for a second-round pick in 2028, swinging another deal Wednesday to pick up centre Jason Dickinson and forward Colton Dach for Andrew Mangiapane and a conditional first-round pick in 2027.

So, what’s next for the Oilers?

Likely not much

Oilers general manager Stan Bowman spoke to the media Thursday, indicating that the majority of Edmonton’s work is done.

“We’re going to spend the next 24 hours talking through [it]. I would imagine that we’re done, but I don’t expect to make other moves,” said Bowman.

“But part of our job is to see what’s out there. If I’m looking at where we’re at, I think any further addition wouldn’t be a significant one, if it is, in a depth role. Something that made sense – certainly would look at it. But most likely, I would say, this is our team.”

Read between the lines, and they might nibble around the edge for some depth help, but there’s no big, flashy deal to be made. That is,........
