At the WNBA All-Star weekend in Chicago, all eyes were on Indiana Fever phenom Caitlin Clark, although many tuning in were watching for all the wrong reasons.

Clark, a white superstar in a league of mostly Black women, has found herself at the center of an ugly race war that has no place in sports or society, and it threatened to explode in the days leading up to the big game Saturday night.
