Alan Hetherington, 36, was one of a group of people arrested shortly after a man was stabbed in an alleyway outside Great Yarmouth Library, in Tolhouse Street.

Norwich Crown Court heard Hetherington and others were arrested a short while later at an address nearby.

Norwich Crown Court (Image: Peter Walsh,, Newsquest) Oliver Haswell, prosecuting, said Hetherington was found to have hidden a "rather scary combat knife" with an 18cm blade "inside a washing machine".

The knife was recovered by police but could not be forensically linked........
