Norwich set for hundreds of new homes as part of £80m 'world-class' development

The former Marsh insurance building on Queens Road - known as Victoria House - was demolished in 2024 and has been used as a temporary car park since then.

Norwich City Council's planning committee will meet on Thursday to decide whether to approve plans to build hundreds of homes in its place.

The applicant, Victoria Norwich Ltd, describes the £80 million scheme as "highly sustainable" and "world-class".

As well as the homes, the development would include a café, start-up business space and public green space, with a new pedestrian-priority street running through the site, which was once the location for Norwich Victoria railway station.
