Spixworth Social Club members have been given the glimmer of hope they can remain in the building after being issued a "devastating" eviction notice by parish council trustees on May 13.

The club, which has roughly 600 members and has been at the centre of the community for 50 years, was told to vacate the premises in Crostwick Lane, within eight days.

But now, the trustees have confirmed that the notice period has been extended to June 5 "in good faith" to ensure the club has a "fair........
