Norwich student dies from gunshot wound in the United States
An inquest opening at Norfolk Coroner’s Court this week was told that Connor Ryan Tracy, aged 26, died on October 3 at an address in Oak Hill, West Virginia.
Since his passing, dozens of people have taken to social media to pay tribute with many sharing the heartfelt sentiment "it's okay to not be okay".
Mr Tracy, who was born in Norwich on December 13, 1988, lived at Searles Close in Battersea, London, and was a student at the time of his death.
His body was formally identified by a funeral director and a medical examiner in the United States gave the medical cause of death as a “contact gunshot wound to the head”.
Area coroner Johanna Thompson said investigations into the circumstances of Mr Tracy’s death were continuing.
While the exact details of his death are currently unknown, there have been calls for people to donate to the mental health charity Mind in his memory.
The inquest will be reviewed at the same court on February 9 next year.
