To deal with ragging related cases, Kerala high court sets up a special bench

Ernakulam: Ragging related cases will be heard by a special bench in the Kerala High Court. The landmark order has come following a decision that was made by a division bench comprising Chief Justice Nitin Jamdar and Justice S Manu while considering a public interest litigation (PIL) filed by the Kerala State Legal Services Authority (KeLSA) to curb ragging incidents.

“Through the formation of a new bench in the High court, all the ragging cases will directly go to this particular bench and thus it will help in the proceedings moving at a fast pace rather than taking a lot of time. This will help the victim and his or her family get justice without getting entangled in the legal process”, said advocate Ashokan, a member of the........
