Wayanad: As Kerala continues to receive heavy and intense rainfall, the district collectors of Malappuram, Wayanad, Kottayam and Kozhikode have declared holiday for all educational institutions on May 27 as a precautionary measure.

It has been made official that tuition centres, madrassas, anganawadis should refrain from holding classes on Tuesday as the 4 districts are expected to witness rough weather.

A red alert has been issued in Kannur, Kozhikode and Wayanad district today. Kerala State Disaster Management officials have informed that people residing in the hilly areas of the three districts needs to be more careful as there are possibilities of landslips and landslides and thus posing threats to houses and human life.
