Thiruvananthapuram: Even as Kerala transport department claim that nearly 21,000 KSRTC employees in Kerala will benefit out of the Rs 1 crore insurance package for its employees in connection with the fourth anniversary of the LDF government, a section of employees question the purpose of the claim and have stated that the new direction is equivalent to insulting them.

As per the new directive, its only if a KSRTC employee die in an accident, his or her family will receive Rs 1 crore. Additionally, if an employee passes away after the KSRTC bus he is working meets with an accident, the family of the deceased employee will get the money. However, if the death is due to any other issues or a natural death, the employee’s family is not eligible for the money.
