Kerala budget 2025-26: K-Homes to turn vacant houses into tourist stays
Thiruvananthapuram: Finance Minister KN Balagopal announced that a new project, named K-Homes, will be launched to boost tourism by utilising empty and unoccupied homes across the state. This initiative aims to maximise the use of vacant properties in Kerala while increasing state revenue.
The government has identified thousands of unoccupied houses in various parts of the state. There has long been a demand for the government to acquire these properties for tourism and related activities that can generate revenue.
