Thiruvananthapuram: Acting on the tip-off received from the Kadinamkalum police, police took into custody Johnson who is suspected to have murdered a 33-year old named Athira after stabbing her multiple times.

The murder took place two days ago at Athira’s house when her husband was not at home. Chingavanam police, acting on information received from Kadinamkalum police, took Johnson into custody from a homestay at Kurichi.

He was brought to the station by noon. Soon, he started showing signs of uneasiness and told police that he had consumed poison. The police shifted him to the district hospital. Cops said they have not been able to collect........
