New Delhi: World No.1 Jannik Sinner has reached the final of the Australian Open in successive years and will be in a spot to defend his title at the Melbourne Park. On Friday, the Italian tennis player rallied past American Ben Shelton 7-6 (7-2), 6-2, 6-2 in straight sets as the match went for two hours and 36 minutes at the Rod Laver Arena.

Sinner will meet Germany’s Alexander Zverev in the battle of World No.1 and World No.2 in the Australian Open. Zverev won the first set against 24-time Grand Slam winner Novak Djokovic after the latter pulled out of the semifinal owing to a leg injury.
