New Delhi: Diplomats and politicians have showed their support to Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri after facing trolling on social media following India and Pakistan’s decision to agree for a ceasefire on Saturday.

Misri made the official announcement from India’s end, stating that the director generals of military operations of India and Pakistan agreed on the understanding during a call on Saturday afternoon, with next talks being scheduled on May 12 (Tuesday) at 12 noon.

Misri’s announcement came shortly after US President Donald Trump broke the news in a social media post, claiming that the talks were mediated by the US.

A day after the announcement, Misri has been facing the backlash from a section of social media users who were seemingly in favour of the war. There were abusive tweets posted against the Indian diplomat and the personal details of him and his daughter were made public.........
