Revisiting The Harley Davidson X440: Is It Worth The Money In 2025?
Harley Davidson has always been an aspirational brand for many. People dream of riding these bikes and they have a cult-like following where the motorcycles form a strong community amassing riders from all over the world. For a long time, owning a Harley has been something that only a few can experience, with incessant taxes on imports, the entry point into a Harley was always a challenge and a dream for many. This all changed when Harley Davidson decided to build the X440. It has been nearly two years since the bike launched but we wanted to take a closer look and see if it is worth the money in 2025.
One thing to note is that the Harley Davidson brand has always been about passionate people. It has always been an enthusiast driven community who buy these bikes and its in most cases a heart over mind decision. This has worked for the brand most of the time but sometimes it has fallen in the traps of the brand being its own enemy and this was mostly the case with the X440 when it was launched in the market. While Harley had brought down the entry point of getting into the brand to really affordable and achievable standards, the world repulsed the motorcycle for being too diluting for the brand.
We rode the motorcycle for more than 500 kms in a week. This included daily commutes, highway riding and a lot of stints to our nearest grocery store. We rode the bike as it was meant to be and we do believe that many of the initial impressions got it pretty wrong and the motorcycle has gone misunderstood in the market standing between tags of more jazz and performance.
We got the top of the line S model which features a matte black paint and diamond cut alloy wheels. For some reason, the pictures don’t do justice to the motorcycle at all. The motorcycle is proportionate and while it looked tiny on tall riders, it was surely attracting a lot of attention from the public. The LED headlights are sleek and so is the tank. The side profile of the bike is a little odd from the rear and the rear does seem awkward at first glance but overall the motorcycle does look pretty cool.
One reason why the X440 was not given........
