New Delhi: There are numerous wildlife sanctuaries in the world which provide a safe shelter to animals from habitat destruction, encroachment by humans, threat of poachers, and other factors which are or can jeopardies their existence. While every wildlife sanctuary is founded with the goal to protect the animals, not all of them are famous. There are some sanctuaries which are more popular that others. Tierra del Fuego National Park is a national park on the Argentine part of the island of Tierra del Fuego. It was established on October 15, 1960, and expanded in 1966. It was the first shoreline national park to be established in Argentina. The park has dramatic scenery, with waterfalls, forests, mountains, and glaciers. There are 20 species of terrestrial mammals, including the guanaco, Andean fox, North American beaver, European rabbit and muskrat and around 90 species of birds.
