New Delhi: The Board of Control for Cricket in India will huddle up to appoint a Test captain only after conclusion of the 2025 Indian Premier League.

The top post became vacant following the retirement of Rohit Sharma on Wednesday, a month before the start of five-match Test series in England from June 20.

Rohit was dropped from the fifth and final match of India’s five-match Border-Gavaskar series in Australia owing to poor form and was unlikely to have been picked for the England series.
