China firm limits toilet breaks to 2 minutes, imposes fines for rule breakers
Foshan, Guangdong: A company in southern China faced intense criticism after enforcing strict toilet usage rules for employees. Three Brothers Machine Manufacturing Company, based in Foshan, Guangdong province, introduced the policy on February 11, claiming it was rooted in ancient Chinese medicine.
The rule set fixed time slots for bathroom breaks, allowing employees to use the toilet only before 8 am, from 10.30 am to 10.40 am, between 12 noon and 1.30 pm, from 3.30 pm to 3.40 pm and from 5.30 pm to 6 pm. Those working overtime were granted access only after 9 pm. Outside these hours, workers were permitted to relieve themselves only in urgent........
