BJP’s Delhi win: Five-engine sarkar must reimagine the future of Delhi-NCR
New Delhi: Now that the electoral dust has settled, it is time to make Delhi great again. Time also to make the National Capital Region (NCR) even greater if India has to truly shine. The political stars present a historic opportunity. Don’t mess it up this time! In one of the most fiercely contested elections, which unfortunately witnessed the public discourse hit the nadir, BJP has returned to power after 27 years.
Arvind Kejriwal who pitchforked himself into the national scene with a promise of clean politics, humbling three time Chief Minister, Sheila Dikshit, and even taking on Narendra Modi in 2014 in Varanasi, has eaten a humble pie.
This would probably signal the beginning of the end of AAP, India’s only political start-up, with many of its key stalwarts also losing. Fair enough to say that it is immature to write off any one in politics as in life. Leave alone Arvind Kejriwal.
For now, however, the one and only issue is to end dirty politics and singularly focus on governance, a pillar that Delhi has sorely missed during the last decade. It isn’t without reason that even after she was let down by her own party, three time Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit is still remembered as the key architect of any development in the Union........
