Nihang Sikhs call off Uttarakhand march after talks; security remains on alert

New Delhi: The standoff between Nihang Sikhs and the Uttarakhand administration at the Uttarakhand-Himachal Pradesh border ended peacefully on Thursday after several rounds of talks. Hundreds of Nihang Sikhs had congregated near the Kulhal checkpost after being called to enter Uttarakhand due to the Karnaprayag incident and the Nagrasu Gurdwara issue. The incident caused congestion, and the whole security infrastructure was deployed in the area in and around Dehradun.
