New Delhi: Amid President Donald Trump’s intensified immigration crackdown, US law enforcement officials are surveying gurdwaras in New York and New Jersey to locate illegal immigrants, reports news agency PTI. This has sparked concerns among Sikh organisations, who view these as a violation of the sanctity of their places of worship.

Officials from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) have begun visiting gurdwaras in the region. Some gurdwaras are allegedly believed to serve as gathering points for undocumented immigrants and Sikh separatists.
