New Delhi: Specialised ‘rat miners’ have reached the extreme point of the Srisailam Left Bank Canal (SLBC) tunnel to assess the situation where eight workers remain trapped for four days after a tunnel collapse incident. These miners, known for their ability to navigate hazardous and narrow spaces, are risking their lives in an effort to aid the rescue mission.

Six teams of rat miners have arrived from Delhi to assist in the operation, with an additional six teams set to join them. These miners were instrumental in the Uttarkashi tunnel collapse rescue mission in Uttarakhand last October, successfully saving 41 labourers.
