Even before the formation of the BJP-led government in Delhi, the work of cleaning River Yamuna started in the national capital. During the assembly elections, the issue of revival of River Yamuna was raised loudly by political parties. Even Prime Minister Narendra Modi had promised to clean the Yamuna River during campaigning for the Delhi Assembly elections and now after the BJP’s victory, work on this has started.

Even after being in power for almost 12 years, the Aam Aadmi Party government led by Arvind Kejriwal could not clean the Yamuna which saw crores of litres of dirty water and industrial waste being released into it without any treatment. With huge amounts of plastic and other waste falling into the Yamuna from encroachments and illegal settlements on the river banks the River........
