Mumbai: In a significant move to tackle traffic congestion, the Mira Bhayander-Vasai Virar (MBVV) traffic police have imposed a ban on heavy vehicles entering Mumbai via the Dahisar toll plaza during peak morning hours. The restriction, effective between 8:00 AM and 11:30 AM, aims to decongest key entry points and improve overall traffic flow.

The new rule applies to trucks, trailers, multi-axle vehicles, and inter-state or inter-district private buses carrying passengers. Implemented on Tuesday, the decision primarily targets traffic bottlenecks along the Mumbai-Ahmedabad Highway and connecting roads from Thane.
