Namma Metro fare hike: No reduction in ticket prices; here's what BMRCL MD said

Bengaluru: Addressing a press conference, Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) MD Maheshwar Rao said that there will be no change in Namma Metro fare. The minimum fare for the metro service will be Rs 10 and the maximum will be Rs 90. Under the new fare structure rolled out last week, a ride between 0-2 km will cost around Rs 10, for 2-4 km Rs 20, for 4-6 km Rs 30, for 6-8 km Rs 40, for 8-10 km Rs 50, for 10-12 km Rs 60, for 15-20 km Rs 70, for 20-25 km Rs 80, and any travel above 25 km will be charged Rs 90.

However, the anomalies and technical glitches will that were leading to further increased prices will be rectified, said the BMRCL MD. He added that the Bengaluru Metro started operations in 2010 and the corporation requested for a rate revision for the last four years.
