Bengaluru Metro: Fine to be imposed for using, spitting tobacco products in metro, on stations
Bengaluru: To stop the rising problem of people using chewing tobacco and spitting in metro trains and stations, the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) has decided to take strict action. From this week, extra security checks will begin across all metro stations, including random body checks during less crowded hours.
This decision comes after many complaints from the public about spitting and littering. BMRCL officials said these issues can’t be caught by just using metal detectors, so more steps are needed.
