Mumbai: According to Hindu scriptures, Sankashti Chaturthi occurs in the Krishna Paksha of every month, and the one in the Paush month falls on January 17, 2025. This Sankashti Chaturthi is dedicated to Lord Ganesha, who is worshipped before undertaking any auspicious work.

The Chaturthi Tithi is considered especially significant for Ganesha worship. It is believed that fasting on this day brings happiness, good fortune, and fulfilment of desires.

Devotees observe the Sankashti Chaturthi Vrat with great devotion, fasting from sunrise to moonrise. The term “Sankashti” means deliverance during troubled times, and Lord Ganesha, revered as the remover of obstacles and the supreme Lord of intelligence, is worshipped to seek relief from challenges and difficulties.
